Creating Space for Connection

The Weekly Walk

Going for a walk with a friend is one of my favorite things. This weekly-ish email will touch on 3 things: a current life theme, an excerpt from a thought-provoking read, and a little nugget for connection.

Hi, I’m Kathleen but my
closest friends call me Kat.

Welcome to this cozy corner of the world wide web.

I’m married to Andrew, and we have four kids. Our kids’ ages range from elementary school to high school and soon to be college.

Over the past decade I’ve been on a healing journey, of connection over perfection, that largely stemmed from trauma in my upbringing. In addition to my master’s program, I’ve gained wisdom from professionals, mentors, and friends who have walked alongside me over the years.

With curiosity and compassion, I’m expanding my capacity to integrate the complexity of my story with God’s story. I’m living in the truth of both/and — grief and hope, rupture and repair, brokenness and beauty, trauma and healing.

I’m still learning. I’m learning how to pay attention to my body, mind, and soul and how to see the connection between my past, present, and future. And how this attunement impacts how I love God, others, and myself.

I hope you’ll join me on the journey, as we explore what it looks like to live a more connected life, that looks less perfect but is more grounded. Thanks for showing up in this space.
